Freebie Build a Spotty Ribbon

Thanks for letting me vent guys and thanks for all the supporting words. As soon as I found out on Tuesday I clarified that it wasn’t an oversight, because I was sure it must have been, this woman had been very vocal last year about her son not being invited to a party (only 2 boys out of 20 were invited so not quite the same). I got a very uncomfortable comment that it wasn’t so much a party as a BBQ. Yep, it was still a BBQ with all the team except my son. That is why I was so astounded, that it wasn’t just a mistake. I didn’t go into it any further with her. I am now just another person at the school who will have no time for her and not bother to offer her assistance in the future. A couple of the other Mums had asked me once or twice why I bothered with her, and I had defended her, and believed her to be a kind and thoughtful person. Well anyone who can see my son hurt that way is not kind or thoughtful and maybe the other Mum’s were right in their assessment of her. I’m with Patty – if anyone hurts my kids the lioness in me comes out. Karma will catch up with these sort of people and if not Karma the bunch of vigilante scrappers that Melissa mentioned LOL.
We took my daughter to her immunologist this morning, she has multiple allergy syndrome, and is anaphylactic to a few things. Over the last couple of weeks she had developed what appeared like a rash on her torso. No itching, it was just there. Good news is it is not a big issue it is another form of eczema, I should have written down the name, our GP will have it when we see her. Seems the cooler, drier air does not agree with her. She had ordinary eczema when she was a baby but it cleared up when we moved back to Queensland from Canberra. We are gearing up for the family arriving tomorrow, the kids are so excited, we have a weekend of fun planned. Tomorrow afternoon I am going to see a Picasso exhibit with my Aunt which should be a nice start to the weekend too.
The freebie today, aside from ensuring I win the “worst preview” award from Vicki A, is a freebie friendly greyscale to make a spotted ribbon. I have put it in as a PSD file, with three layers, for the background, a lighter coloured dot and a darker coloured dot. It makes it easier to colour in. As usual I took it for a test drive in my favourite little sports model – Miss Pamela’s Digitreats ABC Kit colours. It worked a treat. The PSD file and the test drives are all bundled up together (cause I’m lazy LOL) and you can grab them here.
Best wishes,
Erika

Thanks so much. I'm actually doing a little design myself and in fact the last layout I put up on my blog contains all self designed stuff thanks to great products out there that make things easier. It was so much fun. Now I just have to figure out how to create more and still get all my scrapping done.

Oh wow. (insert bug-eyed, jaw-dropped smiley here!) That is just mind boggling. Glad you found out what she is really like sooner rather than later though! I'm sure Thomas will have a grand time with your family this weekend, sounds like loads of fun!!! So sorry to hear that your little curly wirly sweetheart is having health difficulties. Hope they can get straightened out soon. And thank you so much for this great spotty ribbon greyscale and even in the ABC colors to boot! You are so generous with us all, thank you!

OHHHHHHH! GRRRRRR! I live in hillbilly country and she's lucky that she doesn't have flat tires on her vehicle! Ok, I would just picture it in my head. Sorry to hear of the allergy troubles. Patty

Mean people suck!!! I hope karma quickly attacks that old troll!!

Aren't things bad enough on this God forsaken planet? Do we really need one more person being mean? Being a nasty person is awful enough but hurting a little one just shouldn't happen. Give your son lots of love from all of us nice people. :o)

Thanks for the fabbie "color your own ribbon". Very Kewl!!

i was hoping the other gals were right and that it was a misunderstanding. i really can't believe someone could be so cruel. well, she'll end up alone and without friends. you, on the other hand, are stuck with loving stalkers, lol! i'd rather be in your shoes than hers.

i love that you made layers in psd format for this ribbon!!! it makes it soooo much easier to use multiple colors. i hope you make some other stuff this way, but i don't know what, lol! thanks for this!!!

Thanks so much for the wonderful ribbon! I'm so sorry to hear about your son being excluded from the party. I know it's heartbreaking when something like that happens to our kids. Hopefully, you all will have a fabulous weekend!

That was my first thought too. It had to just be a mistake! How sad for your son. I just had an opposite experience. We were at a birthday party and two of my friends have older sons, about 5 years older than my 4yo. When we were leaving the boys came up to my son and said good-bye and thanks for playing with them. I didn't even realize they had been playing with him the whole time. I was so happy that they were nice to him. It's all part of the joys and sorrows of motherhood.

Hi just found your blog and wanted to thank you for sharing all your wonderful goodies, I'm like a kid at Christmas! :o)
So sorry to hear about that nasty cow hurting your son, people like that need a swift boot to the head - and normally I'm not a violent person lol - I absolutely detest adults who can willing hurt a child...and emotional hurts last a lot longer than physical hurts. But, I'd have told him that he couldn't have gone because family was coming to visit & there was just loads of fun to be had for the whole weekend, in an effort to keep him from feeling that he wasn't invited...more of a 'sorry hun, we're going to be so busy there just won't be time to go' type of thing...but I think you are right to be furious with that so-called mother! I'd avoid doing anything to help her as well in future...I'm of the belief that if someone treats me nicely I'll do all I can for them regardless of what others think of the person, but hurt me or someone I love and then you're on your own...how on earth can she live with herself knowing that she's hurt a little boy who has done nothing to warrent such exclusion? Ok, he's not my child, but even I'm ready to go do battle for him and teach that woman a few things!! But I hope he had a wonderful time with the family and I hope you did too! Take care and thank you once again for sharing your gorgeous creations! xx

Hi Erika! Just stopping by on my daily check of your blog... haven't heard from you for awhile, hoping everything is ok. I think I remember you saying you have some difficult decisions job-wise to make so am guessing that may be part of your quietness? Just hoping all is going well for you and your family!
